Rustic Style

Rustic Style

This outfit was inspired by my mom's plaid shirt that we found the other day. I like this Madewell one above, but hopefully my mom's can make an appearance on the blog soon!
She says to me, "do you even KNOW how old this is??" I guess that shows my age too?
One day I will purchase a spiked necklace. It can make any look more edgy, and those Acne boots. I die!

DIY: Glitter Mason Jar

How to make a glitter mason jar.
Easy, fun, and very inexpensive!

Before you start, you will need . . .
Supplies: Loose Glitter, Mason Jars (both from the dollar store), Paint Brush, Paper Bowl, Craft Glue, Painters Tape (not pictured), and newspaper

Step 1:
Tape your mason jar just above the area you want the glitter for a clean, fresh edge.

Step 2:
Use your paintbrush to paint the area of the mason jar where you want the glitter to sparkle.

Step 3: After the area is covered with glue, Sprinkle the glitter! I used a paper bowl to catch the stragglers and keep the mess minimum.

Step 4: Let glitter dry in the paper bowl for at least one hour (I waited longer just to be safe).
Step 5: Remove painters tape slowly, and..

 Job Finished!
(Note: I did not put glue or glitter on the bottom of the jar.)

 I love it!
I've wanted to do this DIY project for so long, and I'm so happy I did. It was very easy and inexpensive. Nearly every supply item can be found at the dollar store.
I think it makes a perfect home for my glitter pens!

McQueen Inspired

{Skull Blouse (similar here) and Peach Pants (similar here), T.J. Maxx; Black T-Shirt, Target; Black Boots, Michael Kors, here; Bag, Rebecca Minkoff; Bracelets, Tiffany & Co, Tory Burch, Kenneth Cole; Sunnies, Chanel}

My maid of honor and I went shopping a couple weekends ago and grabbed some yummy dinner. We were browsing through T.J. Maxx, after having our hands full with wedding goodies and house stuff, we spotted this skull blouse. Both of us looked at each other, and we both knew that we needed this blouse! My MOH (maid of honor) said something along the lines of, "what kind of message am I sending if I wear this?" I thought the same thing, but then I realized, who cares! We can just wear it for fun. So, I did. I am very happy they had two blouses in our size!

Skulls have been popping up all over the place lately. Originally, I only saw skulls on Alexander McQueen items, but now they're everywhere! I love my McQueen scarf, but I found it for an extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY inexpensive price, and that is why I have it. However, I cannot justify spending full price on a skull scarf or blouse. Needless to say, I am happy that I spotted this one!

What do you think?! Are skulls a yes or no?

Autumn

{Chambray Top, TopShop, gifted; Skinny Jeans, A&F; Scarf, My mommy's; Leather Boots, Michael by Michael Kors; Duffle Bag, Coach}

I bought these boots during Nordstrom's anniversary sale, and I am most definitely proud of my purchase! However, I couldn't wear these babies for months!! Today was the day I decided to take them out of their pretty box and wear them. It was hard, at first, to get any sort of dirt on them or scratch, but I realized they are shoes, and that's what they're for. lol

The next few weeks will be incredibly hectic. I have a major exam coming up for school, and I am swamped with assignments and other aspects of my internship.
I will try to post as much as I can!

Thanks for reading!
